Design, draw, print, cut, sew, and repeat, that is what we do. Sewn To The Bone is a modern day cottage industry.
Our collection is growing organically as we arm ourselves with the skills to realize our ideas. All of our products, from Tees to Hats are hand produced in Wilmington, NC.

Meet Indie South Artist - Soaps n Stilettos

Soaps N' Stilettos is an all natural goats milk soap from our little farm in Watkinsville, GA.  Each night I milk my La Mancha goat, named Sophia, to provide all the milk for my handmade goats milk.
Why goats milk?  Goats milk has many vitamins and other essential elements to help nourish skin.  These include vitamins A, E, C, some of the B vitamins, amino acids, citric acids, unsaturated fatty acids and zinc.Goatmilk is particularly moisturizing and nourishing to the skin because of capric-caprylic triglyceride. Capric-caprylic triglyceride is an effective skin moisturizer that helps to contribute to skin softness by forming a barrier on the skin to help inhibit the loss of moisture. It is the only milk that contains naturally occurring capric-caprylic triglycerides. The protein strands of goat milk are shorter than other types of milk and are more readily absorbed by skin.
Natural creams in goats milk soap help keep moisture in skin better than commerical soaps.  This is because the commercial brands are mainly chemicals.  Goats milk has smaller protiens, making it easliy and quickly absorbed into the skin.  Goatmilk also has naturally occurring lactic acid that helps keep skin smooth by encouraging skin turnover (it acts similar to a gentle peel).
Don't be fooled by soapers who say they make goats milk soap but yet only use goats milk powder or canned milk as an additive in their soap.  Our goats milk is fresh from Sopha each night and is the base of all our soaps!  Our only ingredients are fresh milked goats milk and saponified oils and butters!  This is REAL goats milk soap!
All our soaps are handmade in small batches to ensure the highest quality product.  No two soaps ever look the same because of their artisanal manufactuiring but they all contain quality ingredients and meet our very high expectations for handmade

Meet Indie South Artist - Charmed Design

Have you ever had an experience that changed your life forever?
My line of jewelry, Charmed Design, was born out of such an event. It came into being as something constructive and positive to do while I recovered from a sudden and life threatening illness.
Though the illness caused me to lose my job, home, and life as I knew it, surviving such a near death experience has made me feel and believe that I am indeed - CHARMED.
After a month or two of creating, I had a pile of pretty bracelets and I discovered that I wanted to inspire and motivate other women by sharing my experience, strength, and hope through the medium of jewelry.
Out of tragedy has come something beautiful. I have a career that I love and I am getting healthier by the day.  My jewelry reflects my experience and love for life. I share this by exploring the fascinating world of symbols that have traditionally surrounded and directed us.  I use charms and energetic stones to design each piece to be full of meaning and beautifully unique. My jewelry is all about feeling good and looking gorgeous….If I can be charmed, so can you!

Meet Indie South Artist - Off the Map

Off the Map is all about a love for maps, nostalgic images, and bold color.  I sell original acrylic and ink paintings, prints, and prints mounted on wooden blocks. The overall theme of my work is travel and adventure while using maps to provide a setting.  I have a large ever-growing "Bike" series that pairs a composition of a bike with a vintage map featuring a particular city or destination (including Athens!).  Other imagery includes landscapes and campers.

Along with my art I sell one of a kind vintage map jewelry utilizing my vast collection of vintage maps and atlases, some as old as 125 years.  Each map is hand selected to find the most visually attractive map and is set in a simple pewter setting.

I studied art education at Appalachian State University and became an art teacher in Charlotte for several years until I started Off the Map.  Our family now lives in South Carolina and most days you can find me playing with my daughter or in my studio.
