Meet Indie South Artist - Uncapped

Maura Cartwright grew up in Dayton, Ohio and from an early age had a passion for art and a drive to create.  She graduated from Earlham College in 2008 with a degree in studio art with an emphasis in metals.  Since graduating she has continued her love of art, making jewelry with a twist.  She works with recycled and found materials primarily bottle caps.  She currently lives in the mountains of north Georgia were she works as a full time artist in her studio.

Bottle Cap Jewelry
All of the bottle caps used are recycled.  They have been transformed from their original state into fun and fresh jewelry.  The jewelry highlights the bright colors and bold images on the bottle cap making them a great accent piece to brighten up any occasion.  The different bottle caps are riveted together with handmade sterling silver rivets making them more durable.  The earrings are hung on surgical steel ear hooks and the chains for the necklaces are copper.
